July’s communication efforts were focused on visual media to share conservation messages in areas with frequent visitors. The Sea Cow project installed a mural in Barra del Colorado, to provide visual enhancement to the location and promote local enthusiasm for conservation of the manatees. The Jicaro Danto project has been working on the development of signs which will be placed in the Tapir Valley greenhouse. The goal is to communicate the project’s work in a visually appealing way to the many visitors who pass through the greenhouse at the beginning and end of their Tapir Valley tours.

Seeing the children of Barra del Colorado happy with the mural and their increasing enthusiasm to participate in conservation activities was a very rewarding experience.
